Counters Tab
The Counters tab allows authorized users to define the next available revenue accounting batch number, next receipt number, and next journal number by fiscal year. To access the Counters tab of the Company Suite Settings page, go to Maintenance > new world ERP Suite > System > Company Suite Settings and click the Counters tab.
Follow the steps below to maintain your organization's counter numbering.
The default sort order is by Counter Name (in descending alphabetical order). Double- click a row in the table to edit the Counter Number in the row.
- The Counter Name displays the name of the counter used by the company for processing (e.g., journal number, receipt number, etc.). The combination of Counter Name and Fiscal Year must be unique.
- The Fiscal Year displays the fiscal year in which the counter number applies. When saving a record to a fiscal year that does not exist in the table, the system automatically creates a new Counter Name, assigns a value of 1 as the Counter Number, and adds the year in which the record is being saved to the list in the Fiscal Year column.
- Enter the Counter Number, which displays the number to use when automatically numbering items. The counter number must not exist in the transaction file. The number automatically increments based upon the usage in the current year. The number must be greater than 0. The default is 1 for a new counter item.
The top Save button is disabled in VIEW mode. In ADD or EDIT mode it is enabled. It is hidden if the user does not have the appropriate security permissions.
The Cancel button is disabled in VIEW mode. It closes the row without saving any changes, and highlights the first row in the grid.
After you enter all of the appropriate options, click Save to store these settings.
Click Reset at any time to return to the previous state the page was in when the page was last saved.
To print the system settings, click Print. On the Print Company Suite Settings Listing dialog box, click OK to submit the listing to myReports.
